reminds me of the softer side of early 80s to mid 80s Petra, with some old whiteheart thrown in... 1 or 2 decent songs

If this CD had better production (louder guitars, real drums, etc)... it would have been a lot better. I still like it for nostalgia purposes, but overall it's not a masterpiece or anything. 'Lord of Israel', 'Open Your Eyes', and 'Lead Me Away' are killer songs though.

I liked the softer side of Petra and White Heart. But I could not get into this. Probably some of the sappiest stuff I have ever heard.

Two problems here: 1: the sound is very much of its time, and doesn't age well. Nobody's fault, I guess. 2: like so many Christian albums of the time, it was poorly produced; the opening guitar riffs sound like they were recorded in a broom cupboard on a Phillips cassette recorder. Shame, really. The band has three lead vocalists, who are distinctive and competent, but I never really liked bands who used keyboards to carry the music rather than support it. Not many out of 10, I'm afraid!

Having said that (yeah, I'm placing a second post because of limited space), I have a lot of time for bands who base their songs solidly on Scripture, so that alone bumps them up in my estimation.

I might be a little biased because I play with guitarist Shawn Fitzgerald on a regular basis but I really have to say this album is outstanding. I’ve played with Shawn at my church for the past decade but had no idea this CD existed. My favorite song the 2nd one as sung by the drummer Don Musshorn. I can also say Shawn’s voice hasn’t changed much at all over the 30 years since this recording. My only complaint is they didn’t make any more recordings!
